Sightings date way back to the year 1960.

A sighting on the 13th of May, 2015:

The observer noticed the UFO and assumed it was a plane. Upon further investigation it was realized that the 'plane' had stopped moving and seemed like a star in the sky. It then assumed positions in the sky that no plane or helicopter or any aerial vehicle is known to be capable of. the motions were typical of that of a UFO....at least from what I have heard.

Other UFO sightings in Trinidad describes similar movements. Also, there are odd lighting effects ranging from blue to red. 

Another observation from reading the sightings is that there are instances where the observer noticed more than one UFOs at once. One account on August of 2012 stated that 10 balls of fire were seen. The spectators argued whether they were UFOs or Soucouyants.

Most of the UFO sightings are described as orbs or circular lights. However, one person gave an account on 31st July, 1987 that they say a cigar shaped object in the sky. they gave an approximate size of being 150 feet long and 40 feet high and metallic in nature. These cigar shaped UFOs are usually assumed to be 'mother ships'.

Most of the UFO sightings documented seem to be in the northern area of Trinidad with no UFO documentation of Tobago sightings.
